We've driven over 5000 miles in less than 2 weeks.
I'm finally at the point where I do not remember my hotel room number. It only matters the first time.
Milwaukee next week, then onwards...

Holy Crap. That was some of the best food I've ever had.
If you're even in NY, head to the corner of 29th and 3rd and go to Vatan. Prix Fix all you can eat Indian. So much flavor and SO GOOD!

Driving through Illinois, I drove past these signs:

You gotta check out this site!
Lots going on these days.
I'm in Houston, here through the weekend, then a quick trip home for a job interview and the Hershey's promotion, then back out to Houston before finishing this tour through Austin and Dallas at the end of May.
The summer has a lot of promise: I was offered jobs for Coke, Gap, Hershey's and Sandisk. A couple weeks ago I was also looking at a thing for Crown Royal, but it just didn't sound right. Gap sounded like the best gig; it would have been just driving, loading, and unloading. Hershey's was a short gig (only 4 weeks), and Coke was about the same. Sandisk sounded like the most fun: Warped Tour and retail.
The guy I'm touring with is one of those guy's that talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk. I get the impression that he has a bunch of friends that all look out for each other and get each other jobs by being references for each other, but none are any good. He found out about the Sandisk gig and locked into it... telling people that he had experience with the things he'd be asked to do, etc, and even asked me for a reference (which I flat out said no to), but wasn't offered the job.
At this point I dialed into Gap. It sounded like good easy money, and something that would get me through the summer. I also started to distance myself from my tourmate, and from the Sandisk tour.
After some other conversations with the Sandisk client, it started to look better and better, and something that I'd enjoy much more. So I further distanced myself from my tourmate and headed back towards it. Now it looks like I'll be on that tour with Cliff.
Voila!

Two olds in the lobby:
"Oh, they have Folger's down here" <--referring to the lobby "Yeah, they keep the good stuff down here" "That stuff in the room is ... wooh..."
For the record, the "stuff in the room" is Wolfgang Puck coffee.
Now, on what twisted planet is Folger's anything close to Wolfgang Puck?
